Welcome We are an Orthodox monastic community under the omophorion of His Eminence Archbishop NATHANIEL of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of the Orthodox Church in America. Our Monastery is located in south central Michigan, seven miles north of Jackson, in the small farming community of Rives Junction, on 200 acres of largely wooded land with an array of wildlife. It serves as a spiritual haven, not only for the monastics but also for pilgrims, a place away from the cares and temptations of the secular world, a place for spiritual guidance and growth. Visitors and groups are welcome at the monastery for the day or for short overnight stays in our guest house. To arrange a visit please see Hospitality and Visitor Guidelines. To learn more about our life and ministry, please explore the additional sections of our website. Please note that the Monastery is closed from Sunday evening until Monday evening (unless otherwise indicated on the calendar). | |
Vigils, Liturgies, Events
In giving birth, you preserved your virginity. In falling asleep, you did not forsake the world, O Birthgiver of God. You were translated to life, O Mother of Life. And by your prayers, you deliver our souls from death. ~ Troparion of the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God ~ |
